Given By Nature

This series transforms personal encounters with plants and animals into imagined architectural worlds. Each painting is inspired by a real experience that deepened my relationship with nature. I reconstruct these encounters as visual memories, where observation, emotion and imagination come together.

Drawing on my background in architecture, I create geometric environments that contrast with the organic forms of plants and wildlife. This contrast is intentional. The bold architectural forms and the living subjects amplify one another, each standing out with equal presence. Creating visually striking compositions has always been central to my practice, and this contrast became the visual language through which I express my experience of the natural world.

The plants and animals are at the heart of each painting. Every species has been chosen because of a personal encounter that shaped my appreciation for nature. While the worlds I create are imagined, every plant, animal and encounter is drawn from my own experience.

Recurring throughout the series are a red sphere and a red column. These forms represent me — a quiet, constant presence within each experience, a reminder that these paintings are reflections on my own relationship with nature and the moments that shaped it.

Light enters every composition through carefully placed openings, cutting through deep shadow. It marks the moment in each encounter where something became clear to me.

This body of work is a record of what taught me to love nature, one encounter at a time — and an offering of that same love to whoever stands in front of it.
