Chromatic Echoes of the Terrestrial Melody
"Chromatic Echoes of the Terrestrial Melody" is an art series by Samira, inspired by her favorite places in British Columbia and her travels during spring and summer. Samira's technique involves layering paint to create textures and geometric forms, adding depth and visual interest to her works.
In this collection, Samira aims to capture the essence of the landscapes she has encountered, employing vibrant colors, organic shapes, and rhythmic patterns. Through her art, she invites viewers to embark on a sensory journey, evoking the familiar melodies of the Earth.
The layering technique Samira employs creates depth and dimension in her paintings, allowing colors to interact and form harmonious compositions. This interplay reflects the ever-changing palettes found in nature, from the warm hues of summer to the cool tones of spring.
Sodden Summertime
The "Sodden Summertide" series by Samira showcases her experiences at various natural bodies of water in the summer of 2021. The three paintings in the series are rich in texture, combining acrylic paint, pastel, and thread to create dynamic, captivating scenes. Each piece offers a unique interpretation of the beauty found at the beach, lake, and river, inviting the viewer to join Samira on her summer adventures.
Solar Interventions
‘Solar Interventions’ is a reflection of her journey to forgiveness, which began during the lockdown of 2021. With the help of her life coach, she worked through her emotions and came to believe that forgiveness is a way of letting go of resentment. Each artwork is named after a lesson she learned during her introspection and is created as a diptych, representing the two facets of her identity.
Samira was inspired by the beauty and tranquility of sunsets and used bright colors to capture their vibrancy. Through intuitive layering and blending of paint, she was able to process her complex emotions and achieve a feeling of peace. This feeling is expressed through structured lines that grew more empowered as she became more at peace. A small, ocean-colored panel outside the boundaries serves as a reminder of the levitation of forgiveness.
The Pink Sky
This digital series is inspired by the cotton candy skies of British Columbia. Samira is particularly drawn to the sunsets of BC which are complemented the beautiful mountains. She wanted to interpret them in the own style. The process involves layers of acrylic paint and textures on canvas, which were then scanned and further enhanced digitally.
Covalent Mural
The mural design for the new office space at Covalent was inspired by the stunning vista of the mountains. Samira, known for her distinctive style incorporating brutalist architecture and her favorite plants from British Columbia, further elevated the design with her artistic touch.

Jungle
Samira was inspired by the flora and fauna of Goa to create this series. She was motivated by the harsh realities of climate change and the destruction of ecosystems and chose to use her art to give a voice to threatened habitats and live a vegan lifestyle to protect the planet. In her paintings, Samira imagines herself in a dark world and portrays it through layered architectural forms opening to positive portals, expressing her admiration for plants and hope for preservation. The process of creating each painting begins with a watercolor composition, translated onto wood panels using acrylic paint, and finished by carefully painting selected plants from her travels. Each piece is a unique expression of Samira's passion for nature and commitment to preservation.
